Immerse yourself into the world of Chinese cusine during this hands-on online cooking class. After you've studied the recipe and bought the necessary ingredients and equipment, tune into a live Zoom session with an expert chef. You'll be learning to cook some of your favourite dishes and a few new ones like wonton soup, stir-fried noodles with bok choy and Cantonese fried rice. And the best part is, you'll get to devour all your creations at the end of the class. Already drooling right?

What to bring:

  • WONTON SOUP: 10 wonton wrappers, 100g pork mince, one spring onion, one clove garlic, 2x2cm ginger, two tsp soy sauce, one tsp rice wine (clear), a quarter tsp sesame oil, one pinch of salt, one pinch sugar, 500ml chicken stock, two small florets of broccoli, two sliced baby king oyster mushrooms, one tbsp vegetable oil, one tbsp soy sauce, pinch salt, half tsp garlic, half tsp ginger
  • STIR FRIED NOODLES: 200g packaged Hokkien mee (noodles), cooked in boiling water for one minute and drained, half carrot cut into thin quarter-moons, one broccolini, cut into 3cm pieces, one bok choy cut diagonally into 2cm pieces, one bird's eye chilli, one clove of garlic, 100g pork belly, one tbsp vegetable oil, one tbsp oyster sauce, one tbsp soy sauce, one tbsp dark soy sauce, half tsp sesame soy sauce
  • CANTONESE FRIED RICE: 200g cooked cold jasmine rice, 100g bacon, sliced two spring onions, sliced 40g mixed frozen vegetables: carrots, peas, carrots, one clove garlic, minced one egg, one tbsp soy sauce, half tsp salt, half tsp black pepper, two tbsp vegetable oil

Session Length

  • The online class is run over two hours, you may start the course at any time when you have the recipes and class notes
  • Online classes are available on select Saturdays at 2pm. You will receive a Zoom link to access the class

  • To get started, make sure you have the following equipment: Sharp knife, cutting board, sturdy saucepans, large pots, a steamer set of small bowls, food processor or a mortar and pestle, roller, spatula, tong, serving spoon, measuring cups and a scale
  • In the case of special dietary requirements, the provider can suggest suitable substitutions
