Paired with bold American BBQ flavours, these brews shine in a relaxed, welcoming setting. In this hands-on BBQ Masterclass, you’ll uncover smoking techniques inspired by Texas, Memphis, Carolina, and Kansas. Learn the secrets of rubs, timing, temperatures, and sides, all perfectly paired with Surfboat’s craft beers. Dive into the art of American BBQ, mastering methods like charcoal smoking and "low and slow" cooking to create tender, flavourful meats. It’s an interactive culinary journey that combines local brews with classic Southern BBQ expertise!

Session Length

Please allow approximately three hours for this experience.

Restrictions

Participants must be 18 years and over to be served alcohol; photo ID may be required.

Guidelines

  • Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult to ensure a successful day barbequing for all
  • All aprons, equipment and ingredients are supplied fresh from our suppliers for a great days cooking
  • No private event bookings as this is a public class

Cancellation

  • Change your booking up to 7 days before the start time of your experience
  • Changes are not permitted within 7 days of your experience
  • Late arrivals or no-shows may result in you forfeiting your experience

Numbers on the Day

Classes operate with 12-20 people in each cooking class plus 2 experienced chefs. If the minimum number of participants is not reached, you will be contacted via email the Thursday prior to your experience to offer an alternate date for the class.

Spectators

Unfortunately as our venues has limited venue capacity, we do not allow spectators in the session.

Weather

In rare instances where we don't meet the minimum number of participants or circumstances like hazardous weather or other factors that make it unsuitable to run the class, we will contact you to reschedule for another date or offer the option to re-book.

Dress Code

Please wear covered footwear on the day of the cooking class. During the cooler months, it is also recommended to bring a jumper as the class is held in an outdoor location.
