Disappointing

Gregory 1 August 2026

The course was cancelled at the last minute with no offer of a refund yet forthcoming. I have written to the school twice with no response.

What! You can make dessert on the BBQ too?

Warren 1 September 2025

A charismatic chef led the course. A lot of laughs and great food was had. Learnt some neat tricks and some handy recipes I can try on the BBQ. Who'd a thought you could make a dessert on the BBQ too!

Not as described.

Barry 30 November 2024

Would have expected a BBQ class to involve some hands on cooking. Was just standing around listening, trying small portions of a few very dry cooked meats.

Cool class

Kim 21 April 2024

Both instructors were pretty chill and cool. Made the class really easy to follow and understand. Will be doing my own bbq smoking soon as well. Food was amazing. Recipes were emailed to us as well so I didn’t need to worry about taking notes. Definitely gonna do another class with a couple other people again.

The event was over crowded not much 1 on 1.

Ian 27 September 2023

The event was overcrowded not much one-on-one learning didn't accommodate for the change in weather. The teacher's language was not for a mixed gender environment experience was fair

More of a demonstration than a class

Keri 19 December 2021

My partner loves to cook so I thought a cooking class would be a good present, a hands-on experience for Christmas. He literally sat and watched the cooking. He got to eat it but seems expensive for a very long dinner.

I would give no stars if I could

James 13 November 2021

The description of what the class was meant to be and what it actually was, was vastly different. There was minimal technical information which you would need if you were to recreate any of the dishes at home. Elements of the menu were completely missed. It very much felt like a cash cow, get them in and out as quickly as we can with the staff emptying bins, cleaning tables as we just waited for the food to be cooked. There were not enough seats for everyone so many had to stand for the full 3 hours in the sun. The food itself was average, in fact my wife’s slow cooked meat is so much better. Only good thing I can say about it was the slaw idea of not being mayo based was good.

Had an awesome day learnt lots and ate lots can't wait to do it again

Don’t waste your money - very disappointing

Angie 3 March 2021

My partner and I recently attended this BBQ cooking class in Brisbane and found it to be a very disappointing experience for many reasons and went away feeling completely ripped off. The “cooking class” was more of a demonstration by the chef. About 70% of the attendees (including my partner and I) did not even pick up a cooking utensil throughout the 3 hour session or get to participate in the preparation and cooking of the BBQ. The people who did get to participate were doing very basic things in front of the class (which were not BBQ related) such as chopping up vegetables and cracking eggs for the sides. The Chef was very unprofessional and unhygienic - he made inappropriate jokes, sweated over the food and kept touching his face and hair and picking his ears while touching the food he served to the entire class for lunch. He also told everyone not to complete the COVID sign in form when we entered the facility and did not ensure that himself and the participants sanitised their hands before touching and preparing the food for the group. To top this all off 2/3 of the meat dishes that the “chef” had pre-prepared for the class were undercooked and the meat was tough. The pulled pork was served to us as a roast because it was so undercooked that it wasn’t able to be shredded correctly. We left this experience learning very little about smoke BBQ (the chef talked a lot about non related topics) and hoping that we did not get food poisoning from the unhygienic food handling practices we witnessed. Hold onto your money - the expensive tickets are not worth it.
