Visit Melbourne's closest snow field at Lake Mountain. Spend a guaranteed 3 hours in the snow tobogganing, cross country skiing or throwing snow balls! On return, view one of Victoria's largest waterfalls, Steavensons Falls, before visiting the famous Yarra Valley Chocolaterie & Ice Creamery.
Journey from Melbourne city, through the Yarra Valley, then travel along the Black Spur, arguably one of the most picturesque roads in Victoria. Take in the views of Mystic Mountains and Lake Mountain, your first destination for the day.
Only 120km east of Melbourne, Lake Mountain is the city's closest snow field. After making your way to the top of Lake Mountain, you will have at least 3 hours of guaranteed snow play, and your guide will provide you with information on the differing activities and hire options available. Options include cross country skiing, tobogganing, tube rides, and guided walks with a selection of clothing and relevant equipment to hire.
After enjoying your time one top of the mountain, travel down through the town of Marysville where you will learn about the devastating Black Saturday fires that devastated the town in 2009, and see the town still rebuilding. Just outside of Marysville is one of Victoria's largest waterfalls, Steavensons Falls, where you will take a walk to the base of the five cascades that form the falls, and enjoy the stunning scenery of the cascading water.
On the way back to Melbourne you will pass back through the Yarra Valley, to make one last stop at the Yarra Valley Chocolaterie & Ice Creamery. Watch the chocolatiers in action, or purchase from their range of chocolates and ice creams, before making the final journey back to Melbourne.
