Once you take out the entry cost ($38 per adult), the off road safari is under $50 each and I think that is great value. There is a free bus that covers a much of the same route but sticks to a set path and is only about half the duration. The off-road safari goes much closer to the animals and they provide a lot more information, answer questions etc. Highly recommended.

On this day we were the only customers with Helen our lovely tour guide. The animals were magnificent and we really felt like we were in Africa without having to leave home. Werribee Open Range zoo is really well cared for. The Cafe where we had lunch was also very good.

The tour guide on our bus (Gordon) was funny and knowledgeable, great personality! Once the tour was over we had full access to the rest of the zoo and cafes. It was just incredible! There was an easy process to follow to book, a reminder before the day and no problems on the day. I highly recommend red balloon experiences, if this was anything to go by!
