Spend sunset watching little fairy penguins waddle ashore to their burrows at the world famous Penguin Parade from the stands overlooking Summerland Beach.

Watch the world's largest little penguin colony waddle ashore on their daily parade at Phillip Island's Penguin Parade. At sunset, experience the magic of watching these adorable seabirds make their journey from the ocean and into their burrows for the night from the viewing platforms and boardwalks overlooking Summerland Beach.

While you’re here, make sure you keep an eye out for other local residents including Swamp Wallabies, Eastern Barred Bandicoots, Cape Barren Geese and Short-tailed Shearwaters. Every visit to the Penguin Parade protects nature for wildlife. It means the Nature Parks rangers can revegetate and maintain Little Penguin habitat for penguins and visitors to enjoy. The phenomena is truly magical and unforgettable!

This experience is available all year round. Depending on the season and the weather, the penguins arrive shortly before sunset. Getting to the penguin parade one hour prior to penguin arrival is recommended.

This experience takes place in all weather conditions.

Please wear casual and comfortable warm clothing. Please dress appropriately for the weather on the day and bring something warm to wear as it can get quite cool in the evening.

Definitely a childhood highlight, remember going myself as a child, this time took my two boys 5 & 7. Definitely get there early, take plenty of snacks while you wait.
