★★★★★ ★★★★★ Romantic weekend getaway Danielle 23 February 2026 We booked a stay at the mansion for a celebratory anniversary on arrival the foyer was very grubby The service at reception was excellent could not fault that on arriving in our room we were shocked at how dark and small the accomodation was and attempted to open the number blinds which we found out were broken so we couldn’t let any light in on further investigation we realised our bed was broken at the foot end and a lot of dust built up through the room The toiletries were very basic and the toilet and shower area not Upto standard if what you would expect for a 4.-4.5 star hotel far from luxury as they describe the accomodation Later my partner and I went for a drink in the bar area The service there was very poor not much choice in spirits as my partner fancied a spirit and the cocktail I rejected was in a very small glass and lacked presentation for the steep price of 25 dollars The bar area was grubby dust thick up in the ledges the kick board under the bar was dirty with foot marks and looked greasy the lighting was poor and there was no music dirty tables were left uncleared for ages although staff walked past but didn’t clear it and it totally lacked any nice vibe After the bar we headed to the pool area just more disappointment lacking atmosphere uninviting and very unclean looking I’m glad we didn’t book Joseph’s for dinner but instead had an amazing meal at the Halifax winery a short walk away Breakfast the next morning served as a Buffett was extremly unorganised food choices and presentation very poor it was set up in a very cramped space and hard to pick up food as too narrow a area to set this up on to serve a Buffett breakfast Again tables were left dirty wirh us having to clear them to make space the coffees were made at the bar by a waiter that had no idea how to operate the coffee machine The back up was from one automatic coffee machine that people were queuing at to use After breakfast we went for a walk the gardens were pretty but not pristine the wide porticos around the hotel unswept lots dust dirt and pebbles in walkways the windows full of dust and cobwebs the door mat looking like it was ready for the bin the cafe again lacked atmosphere although the coffee from there was better Over all this overnight supposed romantic weekend away was horrible I would not reccomend the mansion for a stay it looks great online but what we got in real life was very very poor and dissspointing this hotel is very run down and uncared for such a shame for such a grand old building We sat for short time after we checked out and in the sitting area the couch had lots of stains the variety not vaccines side tables with permanent glass stains It was not a nice feeling sitting in the foyer area far from luxury Overall I would give it zero stars and definitely tell family and friends to not waste their money Customer Experience Hi Danielle, Thank you for taking the time to share such detailed feedback. ★★★★★ ★★★★★ Very over rated for what it is Brooklyn 6 December 2025 It was an okay stay, very outdated and very over rated by the description advertised online. Ive stayed at a few places now and I would save my money and experience somewhere else. We ate at the restaurant for dinner and had to wait an extra hour for our meals to come out after my sons. I think they had forgotten our meals (the waitress even came and asked if we had had our meals yet) and it was a Monday night they weren’t busy. And then for breakfast they seemed very behind- they had no spreads out for bread/toast not even butter. There was no milk out for coffee/cereals. And some of the food wasn’t the best ie the bacon was overcooked you couldn’t even chew it, it was so hard. And the cleanliness I wouldn’t say was the best I’ve seen. I think could be better. ★★★★★ ★★★★★ Recommended lovely hotel but very noisy Cathie 22 November 2025 the Werribee Mansion hotel is lovely in most aspects, however this is the second time I have stayed here, and both times I had issues with the noise level. Our room was above the front entrance, and at many times overnight the noise from rowdy wedding guests outside our window, as well as people making a racket in the hallway outside our room, was disturbing. I was woken by the noise several times throughout the night. Surprisingly for such a solid building, the sound proofing seems to be minimal, and even low level conversations in the hallway are quite audible from inside the room. Otherwise, the breakfast was magnificent, and we really love exploring the mansion and gardens surrounding it- well worth a visit Customer Experience Hi Cathie, thank you for sharing your feedback.
