This Scuba Introductory Dive Course offers anyone the opportunity to try scuba diving. Receive instruction in a purpose-built heated pool before plunging under the waters of Byron Bay to explore the variety of marine life surrounding Julian Rocks. A great intro to a fantastic hobby!
At the beginning of the lesson you will get geared up and shown basic scuba skills which you will then practise in a purpose-built heated swimming pool. When everyone has mastered the basics it's time to head out onto the boat for a quick run over to Julian Rocks for your first dive. Julian Rocks nature reserve is home to over 400 species of fish, three difference species of sea turtles (green, hawksbill and loggerhead), a variety of rays and corals. It is the place where the tropical Coral Sea collides with the nutrient-enriched temperate currents of the southern Tasman Sea, resulting in an unique mixture and incredible abundance of marine life. It is only a few minutes boat ride from the beach where you will dive under the supervision of your instructor.
You will have the opportunity to see plenty of interesting southern ocean animals including friendly blue gropers and wobbegongs. If you have always wanted to try scuba diving this is the course for you, no experience is necessary!
This is a small personal tour with minimum 2 participants and a maximum of 4. We can run an Introductory Dive for 1 person at an extra charge of $65.00.
