Jo 8 December 2025 Snorkelling on Wave Break Island was a nice experience with lots of fish around, and a lot of time in the water to explore the rocks and surrounds. I loved having what felt like 100 fish swimming up close and personal, and not afraid to have a nibble of my finger! The staff were fantastic, and safety was always top priority, and the boat ride out to Wave Break Island showed the Gold Coast from a different view! The trip was a good one for a first time snorkeller, with an easy swim to the beach from the boat, but if you're after 1000's of fish and reef sharks, then this isn't the trip for you. We got picked up at our hotel and taken out to the island where my partner and I took turns snorkelling while the other paddled around with our 3 year old. She enjoyed the fish coming right up to her. There was a lovely little spot we could play in the sand when we got tired of floating around. Staff were friendly and helpful. Perfect little family outing. ★★★★★ ★★★★★ Scuba Vivek 24 July 2023 We had a rather disappointing experience with the instructor during our time at Queensland Scuba. From the very beginning, there was a negative tone, as the instructor mentioned that he wouldn't take us if we didn't pass the course. This approach felt rushed and intimidating, causing my wife to feel overwhelmed and even brought her to tears. It would have been better if the instructor had been more patient and understanding, especially considering it was our first time and we had some fears about diving. During the dive, the situation didn't improve either. While my friend and I managed to stay underwater for about 10 minutes, we had to wait on the boat for over 30 minutes, which was quite frustrating. Even more disappointing was that my wife was discouraged from scuba diving and was instead offered snorkeling. However, when she requested the snorkeling gear on the boat, it was not provided, and she felt neglected. It seemed as if they did us a favor by letting us participate, which left us with an awful experience throughout the entire trip. In summary, the negative and rushed attitude of the instructor, coupled with the lack of consideration for my wife's preferences, made our experience at Queensland Scuba one of the most disappointing aspects of our trip. It would have been much better if the instructor had been more encouraging, patient, and accommodating to ensure a positive and enjoyable diving experience for all participants.
