Take your first step into the world of exploring the open ocean on one breath. During this course spread over two days, you will receive the knowledge and techniques to get started with your free diving journey and get a worldwide certification under SSI Freediving upon completing requirements.
Learn a new skill and take your first step into the world of underwater exploring with this amazing two day Freediver course. This course will give you the knowledge and techniques to truly discover what you are capable of and what your body can do. Begin your course on Day 1 where the instructors will guide you through the Theory of Freediving. This session consists of a breath and meditation workshop, yoga for Freediving and a pool skills session to teach you the fundamental techniques needed to become a competent and safe freediver. On Day 2, you will head out with your instructor to explore the blue open ocean and dive a minimum depth of 10 metres. Discover the wildlife below the water's surface and practice your new found skill safely. The specific skills that will be achieved at the conclusion of this course are:
This experience runs with a minimum number of 2 participants, and there is an instructor ratio of 4 students to 1 instructor.
OceanSense works together with boat operators who reserve the right at any time to cancel any program. If, in the opinion of the Skipper, the voyage cannot be continued for any reason including the weather and sea conditions, then the Skipper may terminate the dive at any time. If the experience operator has to cancel or rebook you for another date, you will be provided with the details of the new trip as soon as possible.
5mm wetsuits and long fins are available for rent at $15 each per day, if you don't have your own. Just let let the provider know a few days before your course.
If you find yourself dealing with seasickness or being unable to equalize, the crew will look after you and ensure you are comfortable and safe. However, as this is not something in their control, the crew will not issue any re-bookings or refunds for inability to equalize or being seasick and not completing dives. It is suggested you consider seasickness tablets to minimize the risk of seasickness affecting your trip.
