Alex, our scuba instructor, was very easy going and knowledgeable, made us feel safe, and made sure we had a good time. He made sure all our equipment fit well, answered all our questions, and guided us through Blairgowrie pier for a 40 minute dive. We had an amazing dive, saw lots of sea creatures up close, and left wanting more! I highly recommend this dive for beginner divers, it's an easy shallow dive but has such good sealife, and the diving instructors at BayPlay are very professional and will make sure you have a great time. I'll definitely be back!

★★★★★ ★★★★★ What a day! Alan 11 March 2017 Arrived at BayPlay shop at Portsea, just a little bit early, 1 and a half hours early. I was that keen. It looked like I was the only one but then 3 other people rolled up. Our instructor arrived and gave us out booklets and proceeded to show us a short video on what we'd expect with a short questionnaire following. Next we got suited up with all the gear, then a short walk to the pier and into the water. A quick refresh on the skills we learnt at the dive shop only this time under the water. A buoyancy check to add weights if needed (yes in my case). Then off we went for our exploration of the underside of the Portsea pier. Amazing, a fantastic array of fish and other sea life. I had a wonderful dive I can recommend this activity. I'm now going to enroll to do the open water course I enjoyed this dive so much.

But i had the best time with the bay play team, my instructor was great and patient with my boyancy issues we got to see heaps of sea dragons and other sea life Nmand not once did i feel uncertain or unsafe with my instructor! ★★★★★ ★★★★★ No guarantee of sea dragons NewScubaGuy 5 January 2015 Overall this experience was a positive one, but there were quite a few factors that detracted from it. which I have listed below. I would still recommend it as a first diving experience though. Obviously there was emphasis on training and safety which took quite some time, but was very thoroughly covered and well done. And I did get to see a sting ray very close up. It was advertised as a dive to see the sea dragons. In reality there was a slim chance at best of seeing them. In fact at one stage the instructor said that they may even avoid the area because there were babies there at the moment and we would probably stir up the sand too much. (Probably true). Out of the five and a half hours a total of about 40 minutes was spent in the bay. Unfortunately the training pool was a good 15 minute drive from the bay.
