This is the most unique cooking class in Melbourne. Learn to cook Vietnamese food in a relaxed and fun atmosphere in the famous Piper Street in Kyneton.

Get ready to prepare and cook everything from scratch. Taste, chop, season - get the "feel" for each stage of the preparation and have the confidence to recreate these dishes in your own kitchen. Start with a coffee and a chat about Vietnamese food, the menu and the techniques used, before beginning to cook traditional Vietnamese food.

Once the hard work is done, sit down and and enjoy your food with a glass of wine and great company.

Entree

  • Pork and prawn sausage in rice paper rolls

Main

  • Chicken with lemongrass and chilli
  • Sugar cane prawns served with green mango salad
  • Pork spare ribs cooked in young coconut water
  • Coconut and ginger jasmine rice

Dessert

  • Steamed sticky rice cakes with banana, coconut cream and black sesame

All ingredients are gluten free and food allergies can be accommodated for.

On the Day

Session Length

The duration of the class plus lunch is 3.5 hours.

The class starts at 10:30am in the mornings on selected dates and finishes at 2pm.

This class will also run at 6pm on selected evenings.

Friday classes start at 6pm and finish at approx. 9.30pm

Numbers on the Day

There will be a maximum of 8 participants on the day, plus a qualified chef and a chef's assistant.

Dress Code

You must wear closed shoes for this experience.

Participants must be over 16 years of age

Participants must be over 18 years of age to consume alcohol with their meal

Cancellation

Once this experience has been confirmed, changes are at the discretion of the experience provider and arranged directly with them according to this policy:

Rescheduling:

  • Over 72 hours prior to the experience date: No charge
  • Within 72 hours of the experience date, No Shows and Late Arrivals: $40 per participant fee to be charged to change the date. This will be the fee for fresh produce, already assigned to you. If however you know someone who can attend on the booked date the experience provider will happily transfer your vouchers to them.
