3 hour Tweed River cruise

Enjoy local morning tea as you cruise up the river. Listen to entertaining Captain's Commentary. Immerse yourself in nature as you cruise by lush rainforest and cane fields. Spot birds of prey and pelicans near Stott's Island nature reserve, from the viewing platform on our vintage river cruiser. Enjoy a charcuterie grazing board with fresh prawns as you cruise back to port.

Captains tip: Watch out for the resident dolphins Kingy and Herbie.

This experience is approx. 3 hours in duration
From 5 October 2025 to 5 April 2026, River and Rainforest lunch cruise departs at 10:30 a.m. QLD time. Available every Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday
Please arrive 30 minutes prior to departure for check-in and boarding
Not available on public holidays

A licensed bar is on board. Participants must be 18 years and older to consume alcohol; photo ID may be required
Please note: Cruises operate on AEST / GMT+10 (Queensland Time)
The Captain has complete authority regarding the management, operation and movement of the vessel. The Captain is not bound to comply with any order which, in the reasonable opinion of the Captain, might result risk, damage or loss to the owner or guests.
As our menus are seasonal and regularly changing, some items may be substituted in accordance to availability. Please advise details of any food allergies when making or confirming your booking. If not received in time it may not be possible to cater to this requirement.
Some events are beyond our control and we accept no liability caused directly or indirectly by such, including but not limited to war, terrorism, civil disturbance, fire, floods, acts of God, acts of Government or any other authority, accident or failure or machinery or equipment, or industrial action.
As we operate on moving vessels, please note that some footwear (such as high heels) may be inappropriate. We recommend flat shoes are worn on board.

Change your booking up to 7 days before the start time of your experience
Changes are not permitted within 48 hours of your experience
Late arrivals or no shows may result in you forfeiting your experience

This experience takes place in Tweed Heads, the gate way to the Northern Rivers of NSW . Tweed Heads is located at the southern end of the Gold Coast: - 10 minutes from the Gold Coast Airport - 30 minutes from Surfers Paradise - 40 minutes from Byron Bay - 1 hour from Brisbane

Wonderful day!

Mum and Dad could not speak highly enough about this cruise. The boat was lovely and clean, the food was great, the cabin crew were friendly and very helpful. The Captain/tour guide was very informative and funny. They had a wonderful day and stepped off the boat feeling as relaxed as they would have on a weeks cruise. Thank you!

Red Balloon were very good to deal with especially since the original cruise voucher that we were gifted had been discontinued. They assisted us to change it to another cruise which we enjoyed very much despite the river was still dirty following a small flood. Food, all local was excellent.

Our party of four totally enjoyed the cruise with the luncheon platter with prawns. We also ordered the oysters and washed it all down with an excellent Pinot Grigio. We did this while being shown the local sights and flora and fauna along the Tweed with expert commentary from the captain. All staff were very friendly and helpful and we can certainly recommend the luncheon cruise.
