Important information

Session Length

This complete experience is 2 hours 30 minutes and is comprised of four separate tours including: Secrets of Pearling, a Farm Cruise, Pearl Grading and an Oyster Tasting experience.

Children must be accompanied by a guardian
Bookings are essential

Cancellation

Change your booking up to 48 hours before the start time of your experience
Changes are not permitted within 48 hours of your experience
Late arrivals or no-shows may result in you forfeiting your experience

Numbers on the Day

This tour requires a minimum of 2 people to operate. If this minimum requirement is not met, you will be contacted to reschedule or receive a full refund.

Weather

The farm cruise vessel has a canopy with open sides. All land-based parts of tour are undercover. Tour will go ahead in light rains and winds. Please come prepared with warm clothing, windbreaker and/or raincoat. Customers will be contacted and offered rebooking or refund in case of operator cancellation due to weather conditions.

Other Info

Oyster type and provenance is subject to availability. When oysters from local waterways are not available, oysters may be sourced from another oyster farm.

[Employee of redballoon] The Oyster & Pearl Farm Complete Immersion Experience is a fun and unique experience located just outside of Sydney. The scenic cruise along the Hawkesbury River is the perfect way to explore the area and discover more about NSW’s only pearl farm. The entire tour was well-organised, and the guides were engaging, friendly, and passionate. Tasting fresh oysters at the end was a highlight! Highly recommended for anyone looking for a great day trip idea from Sydney.

[Employee of redballoon] This Oyster & Pearl Farm Immersion was such an amazing and unique experience! Cruising down the beautiful Hawkesbury River, surrounded by incredible scenery, was the perfect start to a day of discovery. The team were super knowledgeable and passionate, sharing so many interesting stories about oyster and pearl farming that I’d never heard before. Watching the oyster shucking demo and tasting fresh oysters right there was definitely a highlight – they were so fresh! Stepping into the pearl grading room was also fascinating and gave me a new appreciation for the whole process. Plus, being able to buy pearls directly from the farm was a nice! Highly recommend this experience if you’re looking for something different and memorable on the Central Coast.
