Tea enthusiasts and tea beginners will love this 60-minute chai blending workshop. Chai is an ancient tea blend made from a base of rich black tea combined with 20-30% spices. These spices vary from region to region and indeed from family to family within India. Your tea sommelier will teach you about ingredients and flavour combinations, and take you through a series of blind tastings. Learn about the science of pairing flavours by complimenting, enhancing or contrasting and have fun experimenting with a variety of aromas, textures and flavours. Not only will you walk away with new found knowledge and skill, you'll also leave with your own unique blend in an amber glass jar - perfect for a gift or as a keepsake!
Ruan grew up drinking Rooibos tisanes from birth and his passion and love for tea has only grown with time. In 2014, he co-founded Impala + Peacock, an artisan tea blending business based in Melbourne, and since its inception has have been involved in brewing, blending and cupping teas daily, in the pursuit of amazing tea and tisane creations. Ruan also held the title of Australian Blind Tea Tasting Champion in 2018 representing Australia on the world stage for blind tea tasting.
