★★★★★ ★★★★★ Shingle Inn High Tea was disappointing Annette 30 December 2024 Taking my Mum and Sisters for a Christmas treat from the moment we arrived, it was sub par. After 15 minutes we finally had a staff member wait on us, even though I had booked through red balloon for 4 traditional high teas with champagne they asked what we wanted to order, when I alerted them to my voucher they also took our tea and coffee order. Eventually 30 mins later our towers arrived and then our champagne, 30 mins later we finished out towers but still had not received our tea and coffee. Alerting the staff to this another 10 mins passed and we finally received our tea and coffee. It was not the staffs fault as they were overwhelmed with the number of people. The venue should have staffed appropriately for the number attending. The staff were very sweet but clearly this was out of their control. I would not recommend this experience. ★★★★★ ★★★★★ Disappointing experience at High Tea Tuula 30 October 2016 After being seated with water and no explanation of what was happening we waited for 20 mins before finally flagging a waitress for our welcome drink. Our tiered food arrived but no plates or cutlery and we couldn't get anyone's attention till we were finished our sandwiches. This experience was pathetic. (I have had this high tea before when it was fabulous but this time the service was hopeless. Also the booking process didn't work- I had to phone them 4 days after trying to book online and not getting the promised 48hr response.

We had to request tea by getting the attention of a waiter. We were given food and for the next 50 minutes were never approached to see if there was anything we needed or how we were enjoying our experience.
