Our service people didn’t really speak to us. Understandably it was busy, but the experience was definitely impacted by this as we have two young daughters who love to chat away. ★★★★★ ★★★★★ Shingle Inn High Tea was disappointing Annette 30 December 2024 Taking my Mum and Sisters for a Christmas treat from the moment we arrived, it was sub par. After 15 minutes we finally had a staff member wait on us, even though I had booked through red balloon for 4 traditional high teas with champagne they asked what we wanted to order, when I alerted them to my voucher they also took our tea and coffee order. Eventually 30 mins later our towers arrived and then our champagne, 30 mins later we finished out towers but still had not received our tea and coffee. Alerting the staff to this another 10 mins passed and we finally received our tea and coffee. It was not the staffs fault as they were overwhelmed with the number of people. The venue should have staffed appropriately for the number attending. The staff were very sweet but clearly this was out of their control. I would not recommend this experience. The food was good, the tea was plentiful and we were able to tailor the ribbon sandwiches to suit (skipping one type and having more of the others). The kids really enjoyed their servings and there was more food than we could finish. Together with the vintage atmosphere, this was a very enjoyable experience.
