Begin your oh-so-fancy day out with a ferry ride over to Mona; the famous art museum that houses millionaire David Walsh's private collection. Your boat ride comes complete with VIP seats, Moorilla wine, beer and snacks. Once you arrive you'll enter Mona; an eccentric structure that houses selected pieces from David Walsh's private art collection. The building itself reflects the weird, wonderful and sometimes challenging artworks found within it. A cavernous space which, is mostly positioned underground, it comes complete with labyrinthine stairs and moody interiors. You're free to roam the museum and venture into all its strange pockets, appreciating the vast array of works.
At 11:30am you will be greeted by Moorilla's Ambassador. They will take you on a guided tour of Moorilla's wine making facilities, where you're learn all about the stages of wine making from picking right through to fermentation and maturing. You'll receive a bottle of Moorilla's Muse Series wine to take home too! Tasting will take place in the stunning sub-terranean Barrel Room; taste a range of the winery's best wines with the help of an expert.
Afterwards, you can indulge in a 2 course lunch at The Source - the winery's restaurant. Each course is matched to a Moorilla wine; meaning you'll be able to sample a range of wine that's made on the premises. Pop back to Hobart on the ferry, but first make sure you stop by the gift shop first for a kooky souvenir.
