Discover the delectable Middle-Eastern food in Sydney's Merrylands on this cultural tasting tour. Enjoy succulent Afghan meats, mouth-watering Persian sweets and the famous Turkish pizza as you meet migrant business owners and learn about the history of the area.
Your culinary adventure begins with sampling some traditional Iranian sweets and being introduced to the vibrant area of Merrylands. From here, you'll head off to sample fresh Afghan bread paired with pomegranate juice. Along the way your guide will introduce you to Persian and Afghan customs, Merryland’s locals and its migrant history of how such restaurants and businesses came to be. Soon after, expect to be engorged with lahmacun, Turkish pizza, Persian saffron rice and kebab samples followed by a plate of juicy Mantu, Afghani dumplings drizzled in yogurt. If you are worried about being too full, you can opt to be taken to the local markets for in-depth look at the intricacies of Middle-Eastern culture through its produce and ingredients. To top it all off, finish with a large helping of Falooda ice-cream!
