Skid pan driver training will give you the chance to jump behind the wheel of your own car and learn the secrets to advanced vehicle control whilst receiving tips from the experts. You will become a safer driver after learning what to do in the event of hazardous situations such as wet weather.

Become a safer and more aware driver with this fun course. This is the ultimate in driver training and skid pan control! Just imagine, it’s a miserable wet day and you’re unaware that a truck travelling ten cars in front of you is dropping diesel all over the road. Suddenly the car in front loses control and you have to brake and swerve to avoid a collision. Your car suddenly skids sideways! What you do next could save your life. Do you know what you would do? During the skid pan driver training you will work to correct oversteer and understeer and learn what to do if you lose control of your car.

More importantly, you will learn how to avoid getting into these situations in the first place. The course includes short theory session followed by in car demonstrations and 1 on 1 in car coaching. You will be taught what to do in the event of skids, how to control them plus learn advanced vision and balance skills. Due to the slippery nature of the course speeds will not exceed 40km/h. Situations such as ice, gravel and wet driving conditions can be replicated.

On the Day

Session Length

  • This experience is 4 hours in length
  • Available 8.30am - 12.30pm or 12.30pm - 4.30pm
  • Each participant will receive a min of 25 - 30 mins of actual driving time on the skid pan

Numbers on the Day

Maximum group size is 12 people.

Weather

  • Skid Pan events are generally not affected by adverse weather conditions
  • If extreme weather occurs the supplier reserves the right to cancel and reschedule to another suitable date. In the event of a cancellation, you'll be contacted directly by the supplier

Dress Code

  • Casual and comfortable clothing is recommended
  • For safety reasons, fully enclosed shoes must also be worn

Guidelines

  • Not suitable for pregnant women
  • You must hold a valid drivers licence, L and P plates are acceptable
  • It is essential that you bring your license with you on the day
  • You must be drug and alcohol free otherwise, the provider reserves the right to refuse participation in the training session
  • Vehicle must be road legal and registered
  • Please ensure that tyres are checked and are inflated to a min of 42psi (REAR), 35PSI (FRONT), (Note: the venue subject to strict noise restrictions)
  • As a rule vehicles must comply with Australian Design Rule 83/00 External Noise and not exceed 90dB (A) stationery noise test

Cancellation

Once this experience has been confirmed, changes are at the discretion of the experience provider and arranged directly with them according to this policy:

  • Cancellations will be liable for the following amounts: 20% of the fees for the course
  • If you withdraw at least 30 days prior to commencement of the Course: 50% of the fees
  • if you withdraw less than 30 days but more than 7 days prior to commencement of the course - 100% of those fees 
  • The only exception to this is if a replacement or stand-by booking can be found. Any changes prior to this will incur a $25.00 re-booking fee. All requests for change must be in writing to the supplier.
