Humpback whales, dolphins, turtles and a variety of amazing sea birds await you on your unique whale watching experience. This is the only whale watching tour operator departing directly from The Pass, Byron Bay which allows the quickest access to the Humpback whale migration on the Australian east coast. These small personalised interpretive tours are conducted with a maximum of only 12 whale watchers per vessel, which is purpose built and designed for unobstructed viewing of the whales. The unique geography of Byron Bay’s Cape Byron allows you to pin point each whale’s location, often encountering whales within minutes of departing Byron Bay. Each of whale watching vessels is equipped with a hydrophone so you can listen to the Humpback whales amazing whale song!

In the unlikely event that you do not encounter humpback whales the whale guarantee allows each whale watcher a further whale watching tour (issued as a voucher) within the same year as the initial booking.

    Session Length

      • Tours run daily at 8.30am, 10.30am and 12.30pm (between June and October each year)
      • This experience will be approximately 2.5 - 3 hours
      • All tours operate on NSW Daylight Savings Time (October to April; we are one hour ahead of Queensland).


      • All participants must complete a waiver, if you are under 18 years of age this must be signed by a parent or guardian
      • Some medical issues may prevent participation - please advise at the time of booking
      • Minimum age of 5 years old. Not suitable for anyone under 5 years old
      • Children must be accompanied by an adult
      • Please wear warm clothing and bring a spray/wind jacket. We launch directly onto the beach so shorts or loose trousers are advised.


      • To cancel or reschedule a booking: at least 48 hours notice is required
      • To cancel or reschedule with less than 48 hours notice: you will forfeit your voucher and will not be entitled to a refund or reschedule

      Numbers on the Day

      This is a small personal tour with minimum 4 participants and a maximum of 12.


      This experience may be cancelled if sea or weather conditions are deemed unsuitable. You will be notified if the experience will not go ahead and you can reschedule the tour.

      Dress Code

      Please dress appropriately (must wear shorts or trousers you can roll up above the knee's as you will get your feet wet getting on board the vessel). Spray jacket provided, please bring warm jumper.

      If you are travelling from 45 minutes to an hour or more away on the day of the course it is recommended you call the provider day before to check conditions for your course.
