Learn how to sail in a relaxed, safe and fun environment. We will teach you the basics of sea safety, sailing theory and provide hands on experience of all roles aboard a sailing yacht. Improve your confidence and ability as we navigate around the stunning Sydney harbour. No experience necessary.

This is your chance to get a taste of sailing as you become the crew on a 3 hour cruise. Departing Rushcutters Bay, you will sail around Sydney harbour past all iconic landmarks including Sydney Harbour Bridge, Opera House, Fort Denison. The lesson begins with a short crew briefing before you get the sails hoisted and head out towards Sydney heads. By the end of the lesson you will have experienced all aspects of crew work from a skipper who is also an accredited yachting instructor and veteran of the offshore racing calendar both here and abroad.

On the Day

Session Length

This experience is 3 hours. We offer introduction to sailing lessons three times daily every day from: •9 am – 12 noon •1 pm – 4 pm •5 pm – 8 pm NB Weekends are extremely popular so book EARLY to secure your place.

Numbers on the Day

There will be a max. of 8 people plus crew (incl professional yachting instructor/ internationally experienced yachtsmen).


We will still sail despite rain. We will provide wet weather gear if necessary. If stormy weather prevents the experience going ahead we will gladly offer to reschedule your experience.

Dress Code

Wear a collar (for access to the club afterwards). Please do not wear black soled shoes.

All participants must agree to abide by the skippers instruction at all times for the safety of the crew and vessel. Moderate fitness is required. Minimum age 10 yrs. Children must be under the supervision of an adult.
