Kayak around one of the most beautiful harbours in Australia and see the world from a different perspective. Discover the hidden beaches of Middle Harbour, explore its wilderness foreshore and experience our majestic harbour like very few visitors ever will - on board a sea kayak!
Casting off in stable double sea kayaks, you will journey deep into the Garigal National Park on the Middle Harbour Eco Tour. Follow the Mosman and Seaforth shorelines past waterfront suburban areas, then break through into the remote bushland of Sugarloaf Bay and Bantry Bay. Follow the paddle strokes of the first paddlers in the area, the Gameragal Aboriginal people, and hear their story from your friendly guide. Learn about the ecology of the area and keep an eye out for wildlife as you coast along the harbour waters beside forested shorelines. Go ashore for a picnic-style morning tea on one of our favourite sandy beaches, then cast off again with extra energy for your paddle back to Spit Bridge.
This tour runs with a maximum of 12 people (and a minimum of 6).
In the event of rain or inclement weather your experience will still go ahead unless contacted by the experience provider.
Please bring or wear the following clothing: Rashie/sun shirt or t-shirt (ideally long sleeve), board shorts or leggings, a hat, sunscreen, sunglasses (it’s best to use sunglass straps for these, so they don’t fall into the water). You must wear closed-in shoes that can get wet, as there are oyster shells on the beaches we stop at. Please DO NOT wear thongs / flip-flops as they offer limited protection. Rubber-soled reef shoes are ideal or an old pair of trainers.
