Kitesurfing is a sport during which you use a kite to pull you over the waves on a small kiteboard. Learn to kite surf and feel the thrill of this adrenaline-filled sport as you jump, skim and cruise over the waves! Kitesurfing is easy to learn and is lots of fun for anyone who loves being outdoors!

What's included?

Two hour kitesurfing experience
Trained kitesurfing instructor

This is an introductory program to kitesurfing and Surf Connect is fully accredited and have everything you need to start learning about this extreme and cool sport. The school use the latest equipment in the market, allowing for maximum progression, safety and security in a supportive learning environment. Kitesurfing is fun and athletic! Once you feel the freedom of kitesurfing over the waves you’ll never turn back!

This experience is two hours in duration
Available for bookings seven days a week and is subject to availability
Available from 9am – 6pm

Guidelines

You must be ver 12 years of age to participate in this experience
Must be able to swim at least 50m and be in a fit and healthy condition.

Cancellation

Change your booking up to 48 hours before the start time of your experience
Changes are not permitted within 48 hours of your experience
Late arrivals will shorten your experience duration.
No shows may result in you forfeiting your experience.

Weather

This experience is totally weather dependent. In the case of poor weather, we will issue notice to your mobile at least one hour before your booked in time, so please make sure you check your mobile before leaving home.

Dress Code

Wear comfortable clothing you can get in the water with. We also recommend you to bring a cap, sunglasses, towel and sunscreen, though we also have cap and sunglasses for sale at the shop.

Other Info

The lesson plan for this experience is equivalent to the 'Discovery Program Level 1 of the International Kiteboarding Organisation (IKO)', suitable for total beginners, no experience required. As long as you are over 9 years old, can swim competently and of good fitness and health, you can learn how to kitesurf!

Surf Connect Kite Boarding

I'd like to thank Pat and Harrison for making this lesson a very enjoyable experience. I was met by Pat who took me through the admin process and made me feel very welcome. It was then over to Harrison who was my instructor for the next two hours. We went through all the basics and having fun and being safe was at the forefront of the experience. To finally feel the power of a kite was exciting and has inspired me to come back for more. For anyone who has been thinking about taking up this sport, grab a voucher, get in contact and head out of the water. It is fun. I am planning another lesson over the Christmas break to get back out there.

What a disappointment! Within 5 minutes upon arriving for my 2 hour kitesurfing lesson, I learned that I was not to expect using a board as most people require up to 6 hours of learning to fly a kite before they are ready to venture onto a board. Whilst I now recognise the reasons for this, I believe this should have been made clear in the information provided. Had this been the case, I know my husband would not have purchased this gift as he knows I like an adrenaline rush. Kite flying while standing in thigh deep water did not meet this criterion at all.

my instructor was really good, thourough, and i felt totally safe the whole time. i didnt realise before hadn that the lesson was only for learning how to control the kite and manouvering in the water. getting on a board is reserved for the second lesson.

I had lots of fun and it was great!
