Get amongst the kiteboarding scene as a fully qualified IKO recognised instructor teaches you the ropes in a day. Your adventure begins with kite control training at St Kilda beach, where you'll be introduced to the technical side including the equipment and different kinds of kites, the wind window, setup, launching, landing and kiteboarding etiquette. You'll then head to the shallows to practice your form, whilst learning the safety systems and the ins and outs of the body drag. Following a short lunch break and recap, you'll put your newfound knowledge to the test as you set up your own equipment and relaunch your full-sized kite in the water. Have a blast as you traverse across the azure waters, sure to capture the attention of onlookers.

Available six days a week
Closed on Christmas Day and New Years Day

Guidelines

Suitable for those aged between 12 and 60 years old
The seven hours is to be completed in one day provided weather is suitable

Cancellation

Once this experience has been confirmed, changes are at the discretion of the experience provider and arranged directly with them according to their policy.

Numbers on the Day

This is a private experience with your instructor.

Weather

95% of beach weather is suitable for kiteboarding. The provider will call you one hour beforehand if the weather is unfavourable and will reschedule you at no extra cost. If you need more notice due to travel, please advise the provider in advance.

Dress Code

Please wear a swimsuit or wetsuit.

Great kite lessons in St. Kilda

We had a fantastic time learning to kite in St Kilda. Their communication was really good and although we had to change times once as they said the wind was not perfect when we did get out there it was an amazing experience. The instructor was really good. Definitely recommend.

The kite lessons with Kite are a great experience

I purchased the 6 hour lesson which had to be broken into 2 sessions because of weather. It was a fantastic experience and can’t wait to get my equipment ready to start.

not much wind from the get go but to pay that price and not even get the board out was very disappointing, probably should of been rescheduled . I felt I payed to learn how to fly a kite , how exciting …

Would have been great if there was wind

Arriving at St Kilda Beach I was impressed with the set-up, the greeting, the instructor etc. And the lengths they went to in explaining kiteboarding. BUT where there's no wind there's a limit to how long you can talk and fly a hand held kite. Check on the wind and CANCEL if it doesn't look any good
