Discover the beauty of the Australian bush as you canoe down the pristine Goulburn River in Northern Victoria with a group of friends. This self-guided half day adventure takes you deep into the southern section of the huge Barmah Forest that is teeming with many species of native fauna and flora.
Set off on an adventure down the Goulburn River starting at Wyuna, which is 25km east of Echuca and just over two hours due north from Melbourne. Meet your friendly guides at the Murray Valley Highway and follow them to Yambuna Bridge where your vehicle is safely parked. You will then be driven upstream, where you will be fitted into safety gear and given dry bags for your personal belongings. Jump into your canoe and glide downstream towards the bridge. The river in this region is perfect canoeing, with only canoes and local fishermen to be spotted. The pristine red gum forest is home to a wide variety of native fauna and flora, and if you're lucky, you may even catch a glimpse of the elusive platypus! Get out in nature with a group of friends and explore the beauty of the Australian bush.
