Discover the most spectacular waterfalls in the Southern Highlands as you fly over steep canyons, visiting Carrington, Belmore, Fitzroy and Gerringong Falls. Be amazed by the rainforest, cliff faces, gorges and chasms of the Great Dividing Range from this unique vantage point.
Take to the skies for a breathtaking helicopter flight over the Southern Highlands. Begin tracking towards the escarpment of the Great Dividing Range, following the rocky cliff edges to Jamberoo Mountain and the ancient aboriginal bushlands of Barren Grounds Nature Reserve. Flying over Cooks Nose walking track, you will encounter the beautiful Gerringong Falls, a 180 metre vertical drop as the Gerringong Creek plummets over its cliff edge. As you follow the Upper Kangaroo Valley River, the valley closes in and terminates as a narrow gorge at Carrington Falls. The top is about 550 metres above sea level and the pool at the base is 160 metres below.
Onward towards Kangaroo Valley is some of the most beautiful countryside in Australia. See the Hampden iron and wooden suspension bridge spanning the gorge of the Kangaroo Valley River before soaring over the dramatic Fitzroy and Belmore Falls. From Belmore Falls, you will meander back towards base taking a diversion over Macquarie Pass National Park. As you fly overhead the national park, just about visible beneath the rainforest are the tumbling waterfalls of the Macquarie Rivulet. Then looking up, the whole of the Illawarra laid out before you.
