Quality promiseOn all experiences

Since I was a small child, I have loved colour and particularly painting. In fact, before heading into a career in business I had dreamt of being an artist. I continued paint in my spare time. Undertaking a commissioned artwork or selling a painting from time to time.
It was at a ‘paint and sip’ experience from RedBalloon event a few years ago that I began to make some new discoveries.
I have found that creativity is something that I yearn for. But unless I make a schedule and have a plan, I continue to do the same things. To experience new things, you must make a plan and it needs to be easy. That is where RedBalloon has helped tremendously. The arts and creativity range has hundreds to choose from all around Australia.
In travelling to central Australia (on several occasions including a Big Red Group company trip) that I did the dot painting experience. This was a wonderful experience to sit with the traditional owners and discover the story telling sitting behind each dot.
Years ago, I did the sculpture experience. And whilst I am not a sculptor, I found this a wonderful way to try a new art without having to set myself up with all the materials. (I think I will stick to painting – but I did love it)
I love a ‘scented candle’ and I wondered if that too would be a creative outlet. I wanted to try it to see if it was something for me. For Mother’s Day a few years ago I gave my Mum the candle making workshop. We had such a wonderful day together learning and exploring a different sort of art.
I have admired many a beautiful hat and wondered if like sculpture I could lend my hand to creating my own millinery masterpiece. I had a wonderful morning and Catherine our resident artisan was so wonderfully inspiring.
For me RedBalloon and it’s wonderful range of art and creativity workshops has provided me with wonderful shared experiences of discovery.
I believe it is so important to have a creative outlet to add balance to busy lives. For me it remains painting. If you would like to see my online exhibition of some of my art. Please just click here. And if you subscribe I will invite you to upcoming events.
