A wonderful day being creative in millinery

Karen 21 January 2026

A family group of five of us had a wonderful day with Catherine in her shop/workshop, learning the techniques of making headpieces. It was amazing how creative we could be in a short time with what Catherine taught us, and Catherine and Sophie were there every step of the way to assist. We all came away with our headpieces ready to wear and more material to add to them if we wished. And there was time to eat a delicious high tea. Catherine's workshop is straight out of a fairytale. Highly recommend. Thank you, Catherine and Sophie, we really enjoyed ourselves.

Lovely creative experience

I was given a voucher for this experience as I am a creative/crafty/DIY person. I really enjoyed the experience of learning a new craft and walking away with a beautiful fascinator (if I do say so myself).

Not the best

Anonymous 4 September 2016

We were only provided Sinamay to make our fascinators, despite the experience description stating that we would be provided with "foundation base, flowers, sinamay and lace". Unfortunately I prefer fascinators made using flowers and feathers and not Sinamay. We were in a class of 8 and at times it was difficult to understand what we were meant to do as it was explained at the front of the group and was not repeated. In a group of 8 it would have been good to have an additional person to assist with the making of the headpieces, as sometimes Catherine was stretched thin trying to assist multiple people. High tea was provided but wasn't in abundance and wasn't filling. Unfortunately we were expecting a little more from this experience

Excellent experience
