Make the descent and enjoy two scuba dives at the spectacular S.S Yongala Wreck in the Great Barrier Reef. Be in awe as you explore the largest and most intact historic shipwreck in Australia, swimming amongst coral-encrusted structures and a huge abundance of marine life.
Dip below the surface and uncover the largest and most intact historic shipwreck in Australian waters, the S.S Yongala Wreck in the Great Barrier Reef. The ship sank during a cyclone on March 23rd 1911, and has remained mostly untouched. As a result, the wreck lives on in harmony with the marine world, hosting a wealth of fish and corals within the site. Departing from Townsville and Magnetic Island, you will venture well into the reef and enjoy two certified dives at the wreck. On route, you'll be run through the site briefings and a guided dive brief. Then, take the plunge and discover an eerie yet beautiful underwater world. Swim amongst the coral-encrusted wreck and come face to face with an abundance of marine life like turtles, sea snakes, giant trevally, manta rays, and in the cooler months even humpback whales. It is a truly enchanting experience not to be missed.
