The Segway Armory Adventure is an amazing Riverside Heritage experience! Take a memorable 90 minute Segway journey. Uncover the secrets and history of Newington Armory, a heritage-listed former naval armaments depot. Glide and float effortlessly between the many underground bunkers. Shift your weight forward, backward, and move the LeanSteer left and right to immediately send you gliding in that direction. Straighten up to gently stop. Once you've found your Segway feet and all turning and manoeuvring skills have been mastered, participants are encouraged to explore the Armory freely and enjoy the natural character of the area including the remnant turpentine ironbark forest and wetlands bordering the site. No matter what your skill level, tours are designed so you feel comfortable and build confidence on the Segway. You will not believe how easy and fun a Segway experience is - until you’ve tried it!

Session Length

  • This tour duration is 90 minutes, including orientation and training
  • Tours are available seven days per week, excluding public holidays
  • Please arrive 30 minutes prior to booking time

Restrictions

Not suitable for pregnant women.

Guidelines

  • There is a maximum weight limit of 117kg and a minimum weight of 35kg
  • Participants must be 10 years or older to participate in this experience
  • All participants will be required to sign a Ride Agreement / Disclaimer Form
  • Any participants under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian
  • You will not be able to participate if intoxicated or under the influence of drugs

Cancellation

Once the experience has been confirmed, changes are at the discretion of the experience provider and are arranged directly with them according to this policy:

  • Rescheduling incurs a $15 per person fee
  • Late arrivals may result in missing the tour. In this case you will forfeit your voucher and therefore not be entitled to rebook

Numbers on the Day

Minimum numbers to operate is 2; maximum number to operate is 8 per tour guide.

Weather

This tour operates in most weather conditions. For safety reasons, rides may be rescheduled in the event of heavy rain and high temperatures.
