The MV Lena Dive Wreck is one of the most accessible, diverse and safe dive wrecks anywhere. Teaming with a huge variety of fish, resident turtles and placid Jackson Bay and Wobbegong Sharks, this is a dive experience that you'll cherish. Step aboard "Obsession 1" and let the adventure begin!
Discover the MV Lena, a former Russian-registered fishing vessel scuttled in 17 meters of water off the coast of Bunbury, Western Australia. As a qualified open-water diver, you can explore this accessible wreck site, enjoying ample "bottom time" as you take in the abundant marine life and keep an eye out for the resident turtle that glides by effortlessly. The MV Lena boasts expansive swim-throughs and an exposed engine room displaying its motors, allowing you to thoroughly explore the wreck.
With only a 20-25 minute transit time, you'll spend less time cruising and more time diving. As you dive the MV Lena, you'll encounter various sea creatures such as Wobbegong and Port Jackson sharks, Bonito, Dhufish, Stingrays, Baldchin Groper, Samson Fish, Skippy, Leatherjackets, Flathead, Cuttlefish and Squid, along with numerous small reef fish species, providing you with ample underwater photo opportunities. The MV Lena is known as an easy dive site, but it's best dived in low winds and light swell. This truly is an underwater wonderland and ideal diving for all open-water certified scuba divers.
Our Lean Dives requires a minimum of eight divers for the dive to take place. Your booking will remain "unconfirmed" until those minimum numbers are reached. You will be notified if / when the dive is confirmed. Should minimum numbers not be reached, you will be notified at least one day prior to departure. In this case our cancellation / refund policy will apply. The maximum number of divers per trip is 12.
Providing there is space available onboard, spectators can come along. The spectator rate is the same as the diver rate
This dive may be affected by adverse weather conditions. If deemed unsafe or unsuitable leading up to or on your dive day, the dive will need to be rescheduled. If you are not able to dive at a later date, a full refund will be provided
Wear clothing appropriate for the prevailing weather conditions. it will generally be several degrees cooler on the water than it is on the mainland. Please wear flat shoes with non-marking soles. Sunscreen is available on board
The FV Lena dive wreck is situated directly off Bunbury, WA, laying only 3 nautical miles from the coast. The cruise from the Casuarina Harbour to the dive site typically takes no more than 30 minutes
