Experience the whale shark's enormous physical presence and gentle nature during this full day safari. Plunge into the depths of Ningaloo Reef and feel blessed as you swim alongside these magnificent creatures, as well as a diverse range of kaleidoscopic marine life.
Every year between the months of March and June, whale sharks linger in the pristine waters of Ningaloo Reef to feed on plankton. Excite at the opportunity to swim with these gigantic creatures during this full day safari. Your adventure begins with a snorkel at a stunning reef location, where you may encounter an array of marine life including turtles, reef sharks, stingrays and fish amidst colourful coral gardens. Then, the vessel will head out into the outer reef, following the direction of a spotter plane to the whale sharks' location. In groups of 10, you will take turns swimming with the whale sharks, feeling their huge presence as you swim alongside them. To ensure they are not disturbed in their natural habitat, you are permitted only one hour swimming time with them. On the return journey, enjoy your final snorkel at a reef location and celebrate the day with a glass of champagne and fruit platter.
Please allow 8-10 hours for this experience. The tour duration depends on how quickly and how far whale sharks can be found.
Minimum of eight and maximum of 20 participants.
This tour is subject to weather. If strong winds, strong rain and swell are expected, the trip may get postponed or cancelled.
Swimwear, warm clothing (jacket, jumper) and sun protection.
A photographer will be taking photos and/or video footage of your day; available for purchase on a USB for an additional cost at the end of the tour.
