Experience the beauty and tranquility of Tasmania's Mersey Valley with a guided horse ride. Travel through undulating areas of old eucalypt forest, farmland, forest plantations and rivers, all with spectacular forest, rural and mountain views.

What's Included?

Journey off the beaten track with this quintessential Australian experience. This two hour horse riding trial through the picturesque agricultural hinterland of the Mersey Valley will have you crossing creeks, jumping over logs and cruising through ancient eucalypt forest. Gaze at the spectacular landscapes, breathe in the fresh country air and hear the stories behind this expansive agricultural property. If you're lucky, you might even spot a wallaby or platypus along the way. Suitable for both experienced and novice riders.

Session Length

  • The trail ride is two hours in duration. Allow an additional 30 minutes at the venue for paperwork and a safety demonstration
  • Available 10am and 2pm from November until the end of April
  • Available 10am and 1:30pm from May until the end of October

Restrictions

Minimum of 2 people are required for the tour to run.

Guidelines

  • Minimum age is six years old
  • Maximum weight is 100kg per rider
  • A low-moderate fitness level is required. You should be able to mount and dismount from a horse unaided
  • Not suitable for those who are pregnant
  • First time riders and novice riders are welcome
  • Experienced riders: For safety reasons the provider does not promise trotting/cantering until the guide has assessed your riding abilities

Cancellation

  • Change your booking up to 7 days before the start time of your experience
  • Changes are not permitted within 7 days of your experience
  • Late arrivals or no shows may result in you forfeiting your experience

Numbers on the Day

No more than four guests per guide. Minimum of 2 people are required for the tour to run.

Weather

If the guide considers the weather conditions to be dangerous they reserve the right to postpone the ride.

Dress Code

Long pants and closed shoes (no sandals). Safety stirrups are provided so boots aren't required. Bring water and snacks if needed.
