This canyoning and abseiling adventure is a spectacular way to see the Blue Mountains! Led by professional guides, you will experience amazing abseils, world-class views, a gourmet lunch and a thrilling Blue Mountain's canyoning adventure!
The World Heritage listed Blue Mountains boasts the most extensive wet sandstone canyoning system on earth. This one day abseiling and canyoning adventure is the ideal way for beginners to experience this amazing landscape and the exciting sport of canyoning! Learn the skill of abseiling in the morning (beginning at 8:45am) with your experienced guides - a great adventure on its own - and then descend through a Blue Mountains Canyon in the afternoon!
In summer, you’ll trek, swim, jump, scramble and abseil through the world famous Empress Canyon! In the cooler months (typically May to September) the canyoning program is extended to include the very popular Juggler Canyon. This means less water and no swimming required in the cooler months, but more abseils!
Group sizes are approximately one instructor for every four or five participants.
Sometimes wet weather may require postponing, but remember the weather in the mountains can be very different to that in Sydney. Assume experience will go ahead unless you have been contacted. If you have any concerns regarding the weather, please call the experience provider. If the experience does have to be cancelled due to bad weather, you will be rescheduled by the experience provider directly.
Please be wearing your swimwear at the start of the day - it is not easy to change into these before the canyon, though swimwear is not necessary during the cooler months. Please dress for a day outside in the mountains. Bring adequate sun protection, rain protection and warm layers. Ideal clothing is quick drying synthetics or wool. If the weather is cold then thermal underlayers are highly recommended!
