Fancy exploring the depths of the Earth and wading through subterranean rivers? You might even catch a glimpse of a glow worm or two. If this sounds like you, then caving is a unique way to see the Earth from a totally different perspective.

As you venture into the darkness with only your torch and wits to guide you, you really will feel like an adventurer of days past. What a thrilling way to spend your night as you trek through the underground landscape exploring the fascinating marvels of inner Earth. This completely unique experience will launch you into an adventure as you venture into the forest darkness and into the pitch black cave.

Britannia Caves are a great first time cave experience, you will experience subterranean rivers, a few tight squeezes, and cool chambers all at your own pace. There are multiple exits and entries to the cave system, which enables every person to have an enjoyable time.

Just note this is not your average guided walk around caving experience. This is adventure caving, you will be crawling on your hands and knees, scrambling over rocks, sliding, navigating some tight spaces, getting wet and muddy and generally, having an unforgettable time.

Please allow 2 hours for this experience.

Restrictions

Minimum age of 10 years old and they must be accompanied by a paying adult.

Guidelines

A reasonable level of fitness required
Maximum weight limit of 110kg and be in proportion
Participants must sign a disclaimer on the day
Participants must fill out a medical information form on the day

Cancellation

Change your booking up to 7 days before the start time of your experience
Changes are not permitted within 7 days of your experience
Late arrivals or no shows may result in you forfeiting your experience

Numbers on the Day

A minimum number of 6 people required to run this activity. Please note participants will be contacted by the experience provider direct to reschedule if minimum numbers have not been reached.

Weather

In the event of inclement weather this experience may be postponed. The experience will only be cancelled if thunder and lightning are present. If this happens you will be alerted as soon as possible and receive a new voucher to re-book the session.

Dress Code

Please wear only old clothing and footwear as you will get wet and muddy on this experience. You must wear closed toed shoes. We recommend thicker clothing like joggers and a thick jumper to protect you from the rocks. Please bring a full change of clothing and footwear to get changed into after the experience. We will provide you with a new pair of caving gloves to protect your hands from the rough rocks and mud which are yours to keep. You are welcome to bring your own if you would prefer

night caving

Had a personal tour of the cave with my boyfriend and was amazing! challenging at some parts but if you couldn't do it there were other ways around. great fun and would definitely do it again.

Underground adventure, great caving experience

Squeezing through the tightest of spaces, scrambling over and sliding down rocks from one chamber to the next was exhilarating. Our guide was brilliant (and patient) in providing clear instructions to help us navigate each obstacle. Physically and mentally challenging but well worth it.
