Go deep into the rainforest and discover the excitement of a canyoning adventure. You'll be picked up from Cairns and explore the stunning Behana Gorge waterfalls or Crystal Cascades as you cliff jump, swim, rock slide, trek and abseil through the canyon and rainforest.

Behana Gorge: Starting at the most incredible waterfalls, you'll canyon your way down the gorge by cliff jumping, sliding, swimming, rock jumping and more. The highlight is sure to be the spectacular abseil down the gorge. Once you're finished you'll be treated to some relaxation time around the gorge before you're taken back to Cairns.
Crystal Cascades: You will make your way down a canyoning course designed to have no environmental impact, which includes: five abseils up to 32 metres, rockslides, swimming, four rock jumps if you are feeling brave, and a 30m zipline with water splashdown.

Usually the Crystals Casacdes is the morning tour, and Behana Gorge is the afternoon tour but that can change based on weather and the ages of guests that day who are participating. You will be booked into either Crystal Canyon or Behana Canyon based on numbers, weather, availability and location is not guaranteed until minimum numbers have been met.

Please allow up to 5 hours for this experience
Crystal Canyon usually departs Cairns at 6.30am and 12pm daily
Behana Canyon usually departs Cairns at 12pm and reurns at 5pm

Restrictions

Strongly not recommended during any stage of your pregnancy.

Guidelines

Minimum age is 8 years
Maximum weight is 125kg
A reasonable level of fitness required however the provider will try to cater to everyones pace, size & ability
A liability release form must be completed. Any persons under 18 years of age will need this signed by a parent or legal guardian
A medical declaration form must be completed. Any serious medical condition or history may disallow you from participating in the tour
Need to have a very basic level of confidence to manovere in the water
Please advise at the time of booking any diet requirements, allergies, surgeries, impairments, or disabilities that may affect your level of enjoyment on the day & so the supplier can best cater to you.

Cancellation

Change your booking up to 48 hours before the start time of your experience
Changes are not permitted within 48 hours of your experience
Late arrivals or no shows may result in you forfeiting your experience

Spectators

Not suitable for spectators.

Weather

This experience may be cancelled in conditions of heavy rainfall or extreme weather. If this occurs, bookings can be placed on another date or credit provided.

Dress Code

Swimming pants, enclosed shoes, change of clothes and a towel. Active wear preferred over swimsuits or bikinis

Was fun but cut short

My girlfriends and I went canyoning as one of our adventures in cairns. There was 6 of us and what we did not know is that no matter the size of your group there is a 2hr time limit? Just as we got the hang of canyoning our time was cut and we didn’t get to complete the course. We were most looking forward to the zip line but because our time limit was up we couldn’t do it. This was so disappointing and anticlimactic, why does a group of 2 get the same time limit as a group of 6? I was told it’s because if no contact is made in 2hrs there is a search team sent but that is ridiculous, there needs to be some sort of radio system. The company gets more money from 6 of us so why do we have the same time as a group of 2? Our guide was lovely but this was just a very anti-climatic end and dampened the overall fun of the activity.
