Experience an 85 minute flight in a glider, high above the picturesque landscape of the Caboolture region and magnificent Moreton Island! View unspoilt beaches and the stunning scenery at heights of 3500ft and experience the beauty of silent flight as you take in the spectacular views!
Come gliding and enjoy the spectacular 85 minute flight around the northern Moreton Bay region!
On the day of your gliding experience, you’ll be met by your experienced glider pilot and you’ll be introduced to the glider. Climb aboard one of the latest models Super Dimona. These gliders are the most reliable and comfortable motor gliders available and feature excellent visibility through a one piece canopy with no door or windscreen pillars to block your view.
As you depart Caboolture Airfield, you’ll experience spectacular scenery as you climb to 3,500ft passing the Pumicestone Passage, Bribie Island over Moreton Bay to the Wild Dolphin Resort and Tangalooma Wrecks on the west coast of Moreton Island. You will then head for the east coast cruising along the beach to Cape Moreton. From June to November, whales are often sited on the annual migration. Then it is over the spectacular Spitfire Channel for a return to Caboolture taking in views of the Glasshouse Mountains and up the coast to Caloundra.
During the flight you'll be sitting next to your pilot in the front seat of the glider and will have plenty of opportunities to take photographs and talk on the flight radio. You can even have a go at the controls and fly the glider yourself. You’ll discover just how easy it is to fly! Your pilot is a qualified motor glider instructor and will be more than happy to explain how this state of the art glider flies and the techniques used by pilots to fly long distances using just the natural thermal energy in the atmosphere.
You will be required to complete a waiver prior to participating in the experience.
