★★★★★ ★★★★★ Only for someone who has never used a BBQ Mr Ken 23 June 2026 As an experienced BBQ user didn’t get much value out of this 2 hour session. Venue and hosts were great. Cassie Hi Mr Ken, thanks so much for your feedback. We are always looking for ways to improve so I really appreciate you taking the time to share your experience. 23 June 2026
★★★★★ ★★★★★ A fun event and we learned a few cooking tricks Graham 20 January 2020 I got this experience for my wife for a Christmas present as we both wanted to get a better understanding on how to cook seafood on the BBQ. We were shown how to prep and cook prawns, whole snapper, squid and salmon and best of all were then able to eat it all! Some nice beers tasted as well The afternoon was great and our hosts, Shane and Nick made it a very amusing event.
★★★★★ ★★★★★ Terrible! Didn't even get the main course! Annie 11 November 2019 We were extremely disappointed by this class and wish we had used our Red Balloon voucher on another product. The "experienced" chef had obviously never taken this class before and was so ill prepared/ disorganised it was beyond a joke. The product description for the course states we will "learn tips on timing and skills to enhance the presentation", which is ironic as we were not even served the main course of snapper. We left after 3hrs having eaten 1 prawn, 1 slice of calamari with a few lettuces leaves, and 1 soggy (not crispy skinned) slice of salmon with one wilted green each. The class lacked any tips on actually cooking on BBQ and there was very little participation.
★★★★★ ★★★★★ Seafood BBQ cooking class John 11 November 2019 The class was scheduled for 3hours from 1130am. At 230pm. the two fish dishes had only just started to be cooked on the BBQ. In fact, one was taken from the BBQ and placed in an oven in a kitchen. The whole lesson seemed to concentrate on marinades. No time was spent on explaining the various techniques for actually cooking fish, which was my main reason for enrolling in the class. Very disappointed!
★★★★★ ★★★★★ Seafood BBQ Rob 28 August 2017 Good food and company but more observation than participation. Not as well set up as some dedicated cooking schools I've been involved in with our own benches, equipment and hand washing services.
★★★★★ ★★★★★ A bit average I am afraid Kevin 28 November 2016 I was really looking forward to this course so was very dissapointed with a rather average course. 17 people and only 7 work stations to actually do any cooking. Throughout the whole course I cleaned one prawn and cooked a bit of salmon, so don't expect a 'hands on' experience. The only tips about barbequing came when particpants asked questions, nothing proactive from the chefs. Overall, wouldnt recommend it.
★★★★★ ★★★★★ Informative, entertaining & fun Cam 22 November 2015 The food was great, nice matching beers. An engaging and entertaining presenter and at the end you've learned loads and had a bit of fun. Would recommend it to anyone who is looking to build their bbq cooking skills.
★★★★★ ★★★★★ Amazing experience1 Kalina 4 November 2015 Really enjoyed the whole experience, from the delicious food, to the chef's, the venue, the other participants and the beer!
★★★★★ ★★★★★ Seafood BBQ Debbie 3 November 2015 Truly great experience enjoyed the wealth of knowledge shed by the cooking teachers in looking for fresh seafood and preparing it and how to cook it and the socialising, with the other participants the beers were lovely and absolutely enjoyed the day
★★★★★ ★★★★★ Great and informative Mary 21 September 2015 Great way to spend a few hours on a Saturday morning, you get to learn how to prepare and cook a BBQ and eat good food.
