Your mission - should you choose to accept it - is to strap yourself into one of the most exciting helicopters ever built: the jet powered McDonnell Douglas 500E. This is your chance to immerse yourself in a thrilling 30 minute 'doors off' military-style flight experience over Sydney.

Immerse yourself in a cinematic style Black Ops helicopter experience over Sydney Harbour & its stunning beaches. For the adventurous, this Black Ops flight is an adrenalin filled doors off mission where your experienced pilot will manoeuvre the military grade jet powered McDonnell Douglas 500E at an impressive 130 knots (240 kph).

In an Australian first, this is no ordinary helicopter flight, you will experience the legendary aircraft made famous in so many feature films including Apocalypse Now, Black Hawk Down, The Italian Job and Mission Impossible.

Gear up for a preflight briefing where you’ll have the option of a GoPro (or your phone if you prefer attached to special equipment), capturing not only your mission experience but the full walk up and action around the aircraft prior to departure.

Before and after the flight mission, you’ll also have plenty of opportunities to take pictures next to the awesome looking aircraft for you to remember your awesome flight in “The 500!"

Important information

Session Length

Time in air is 30 minutes, please allow 75 minutes for entire experience
Please arrive 15 minutes prior to departure to check in and for a safety briefing
This experience is available for bookings on Friday at 12pm, 1:30pm, 3pm and 4:30pm
This experience is available for bookings on Saturday and Sunday at 10:30am, 12pm, 1:30pm, 3pm and 4:30pm

Restrictions

Max single passenger weight is 115kg.

Guidelines

The 4th participant must be less than 60kg; all participants weights must be provided when making a booking
Minimum age for travel is 10 years of age for the doors OFF option
Minimum age for travel is 3 years of age for the doors ON option
All passengers between 3 and 17 years must be accompanied by at least 1 adult
Individual (maximum) passenger weight is 115kg with a max combined weight of 200kg when booking for two passengers on a shared flight (or 250kg for three). When booking for 4 on a Private flight, one passenger must be 60kg (or less). Total weight limitations apply for all flights
All door off operations are at the discretion of the Pilot in Command
Participants must have an alcohol-blood reading below .05. You may be breathalysed prior to boarding and anyone over the limit will not be permitted on the aircraft
Participants must have a general level of health and fitness with the ability to enter and exit the aircraft independently
Participants with the following conditions should consult the experience provider prior to booking: heart conditions, physical injuries, vertigo, history of mental illness or a history fits or seizures
Please arrive 15mins prior to flight departure
Flights are always on request and the experience provider will endeavour to confirm in the shortest possible time. They may also contact you to vary your departure time or day to match with other paying passengers and you may be offered the next available time slot available.

Please note: Giving an incorrect weight at time of booking could result in cancellation of the seat on the day of the flight (with penalty) if it causes the operator operational difficulties, (i.e. the actual weights will contribute to an excess greater than the aircraft maximum take-off weight)

Cancellation

Change your booking up to 14 days before the start time of your experience
Changes are not permitted within 14 days of your experience
Late arrivals or no shows will result in you forfeiting the experience

This is a private flight with maximum group size of 4 people. PLEASE NOTE that the 4th participant must be less than 60kg and that all participants weights must be advised at time of booking.

Seriously Amazing way to see Sydney Harbour

I felt safe from start to finish. My flight had rightly been postponed previously due to unsafe wind and weather but I got to fly today. Cannot recommend it enough. The doors off make the view and “feel” of the ride extra special. The circuits around the the Bridge and Opera House are a standout and the phone holder provided made videos and photos easy. Sydney like you've never seen before - incredible!

I've lived in Sydney for 25 years but this was like seeing it brand new - from 500 feet! I watched the Harbour Bridge and the Opera House pass beneath me, almost close enough to touch, and saw Olympic Park through the open door. I won't ever forget this ride, those sights or how much fun it was. The guys were great - practiced, professional and friendly. If you get the chance to do this, grab that chance!
