Explore the famous Yarra Valley in a chic luxury vehicle and learn more about the tastes, nuances and aromas of premium wines. Departing Melbourne CBD, you will visit three or four renowned wineries for guided tastings and enjoy an indulgent three course champagne lunch at Domaine Chandon.
Your day begins at around 9:30am when you are whisked away from the hustle and bustle of Melbourne by an experienced wine chauffeur. Soon enough, the city will be behind you and you will be awed by the Yarra Valley's iconic landscape; rolling hills strung with vines, lush green countryside and pastures.
Your first wine tasting experience begins at 10:30am, where you will enjoy a private masterclass with the head winemaker, around 60 minutes, you'll learn about the grape varieties, blends and the winemaking process and experience flavours and styles specific to the region with quality levels of reserve, single plot and museum wine standards matched together with cheese.
Lunch is enjoyed overlooking the vines at Domaine Chandon at your own private table. Here you will be treated to a guided tasting of the Chandon's sparkling range that includes four glasses per person with lunch. Compare different flavour profiles from old style traditional Brut versus the latest fashion style of champagne on trend. You will also be granted special access to areas that are unavailable to the general public and this will add that special unique touch to the day.
Your next location in your winery journey will have you tasting five wine styles of reserve and single plot wines, including top of the range cool climate wines awarded to Wine Maker of the year. This is a high end masterclass in a glass where you will be tasting wine that is over $250 per bottle !
If time permits, your chauffeur will add another venue for more tasting experiences local to the Yarra Valley.
