Just 18 km from Alice Springs, you head into the golden hour at Simpsons Gap, a place where the West MacDonnell Ranges glow. As the sun sinks, you slow down and tune in, guided through this remarkable landscape while learning to capture its shifting light in watercolour. Along the short walk in, you discover local flora and fauna, hear stories of this spiritually significant Arrernte site, and choose the details that speak to you, from river red gums to rugged rock faces, and perhaps a shy rock wallaby.

You're gently introduced to watercolour through playful, confidence building exercises designed to help you loosen up. As the evening unfolds, you build skills and techniques before creating a final piece. Suitable for beginners and experienced painters alike, all materials are provided, with pick up and drop off from Alice Springs included, so you can simply arrive curious and leave inspired, carrying home a meaningful creative memory of Central Australia.
