Embark on a full day team conservation experience to discover the Great Barrier Reef at each level, departing from Cairns. Guided closely by experienced, knowledgeable guides, this unforgettable trip incorporates science based conservation, utilising hands on citizen science activities and interactive demonstrations.
Explore the underwater world from a unique perspective on a glass bottom boat tour. Glimpse into the crystal clear waters of lagoons off the coast of Cairns and admire vibrant coral formations and diverse marine life such as tropical fish, turtles and rays. From the comfort of the boat, you’ll hear insights into the delicate reef ecosystem from a marine biologist.
Then, snorkel in this globally iconic reef, where you’ll get up close to sea life and swim amongst coral gardens with excellent visibility. Spend time on Green Island or Fitzroy Island with a cultural guided walk led by Traditional Owners across the picturesque landscape, learning about the cultural significance of the lands and waters through stories passed down for generations.
This full day experience is approximately seven to eight hours in duration.
This experience is adjusted depending on tides, weather, and reef conditions. In extreme weather conditions the tour may be cancelled if safety is a concern, you will be contacted by the provider and rescheduled or refunded.
Please bring swimwear, a towel, reef safe sunscreen, a hat, and a reusable water bottle.
