Your host and cooking teacher for the day is Luciana Sampogna, a graduate from the famous Simili Sisters' school in Bologna, and author of Light of Lucia, the cookbook which will take you through the journey of Italian life, love and food revealing the best of "L'anima Italiana", the Italian soul.

This class is a 'must do' for those passionate about food, about Italy or about learning a new skill. You will prepare a typical Italian lunch including a tuscan antipasti, fresh pasta, a meat dish and dessert, using the very best ingredients and recipes from various parts of Italy. One thing is for sure that the flavours will make your mouth sing with delight and your tummy gurgle with satisfaction.

Sample Menu

  • Classic Tomato and Ricotta Pasta Salad or Antipasto Toscano of Borlotti Beans and Olives: a classical Tuscan Recipe, which delivers the outstanding rustic flavours of this region
  • Tortelli di Zucca (Tortelli stuffed with pumpkin): this fresh pasta is the home flag of Ferrara in Emilia Romagna. It is done the right way, served and cooked perfectly for your full enjoyment or Ricotta Tortelli, freshly made by you using mint leaves through the pasta dough
  • Casunziei Ampezzani - a classical fresh pasta stuffed with beetroot which originated from Cortina D’Ampezzo or Scaloppine of Chicken with Herbs
  • Semifreddo al Caffe - a delightful dessert that has been part of our famous repertoire of recipes.
On the Day

Session Length

  • Evening classes are run on alternate Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday
  • Evening classes start at 6pm and will run for 4 hours

Maximum group size is 17.

Dress Code

  • Smart casual clothing recommended
  • Enclosed sturdy shoes are recommended and an apron is essential

Other Info

This class covers how to make fresh pasta. The other three dishes will be covered in a comprehensive demonstration. You have dinner and two glasses of wine which will accompany the pasta dish and the meat respectively.

Cancellation

Once this experience has been confirmed, changes are at the discretion of the experience provider and arranged directly with them according to this policy:

  • Class sizes are limited so bookings are essential
  • Classes cannot be transferred nor money refunded, but you are welcome to send someone in your place if you are unable to attend your class
  • In the unlikely event that a scheduled class does not reach minimum numbers or due to unforeseen exceptional circumstances, the provider reserves the right to change the date of the class or cancel. If that occurs, a refund will be given
  • Children can only be accepted once a child enrolment form has been completed and signed by a parent or guardian and sent to us
