Sydney Weekender has classified this Italian cooking class as 'One of the best places in the world to learn how to cook authentic Italian'. This four hour class will have you creating fresh pasta and sauces from scratch and perfecting the iconic tiramisu cake! Two glasses of wine included.

What's included?

  • Four hour cooking class with respected chef
  • A glass of wine to start and one with your meal

Enjoy a four hour cooking class with an experienced cooking instructor extensively trained by chef and author Luciana Sampogna. This hands-on class gives you the opportunity to make fresh pasta and turn it into tagliatelle, penne and ravioli. You will make penne alla vodka to start the evening, accompanied by a glass of wine, before learning to make authentic bolognese sauce. You will also have the delight of creating fresh mint and ricotta ravioli and the iconic tiramisu cake! At the end of the class, dine Italian-style at a long table and toast to your efforts with a glass of wine.

  • Evening classes are run on alternate Tuesdays, Wednesdays or Thursdays
  • Evening classes start at 6pm and will run for four hours
  • Participants must be over the age of 18 years to consume alcohol during this experience
  • Children can only be accepted once a child enrolment form has been completed and signed by a parent or guardian
  • This class is also suitable to people with a gluten intolerance - please advise at the time of booking
  • Menu subject to seasonal change
  • A coeliac options is available on selected dates
  • Change your booking up to 48 hours before the start time of your experience
  • Changes are not permitted within 48 hours of your experience
  • Late arrivals or no shows may result in you forfeiting your experience

Classes are small and intimate - numbers are limited to 17.

Comfortable clothing and enclosed flat shoes. No heels

This experience is held in a boutique cooking school customer designed in Marrickville. There are dedicated rooms with fully equipped work benches. A separate dining area is utilised and all participants enjoy each course as it is prepared accompanied by winds.

The class was less hands on then expected. More about pasta making and the teacher did most of the work explaining where each dish comes from in Italy. Best thing was the free wine and the taste of the food. Teacher was also very passionate about cooking. Worse thing was class size, lack of hands on experience and teacher can come across a bit standoffish with comments and teaching style.
