Make your next cheese platter shine as you begin your journey to becoming an artisan cheesemaker in this hands-on cooking class. You'll learn the techniques of creating a variety of fresh cheeses including whole milk ricotta and haloumi as well as mastering the art of stretching mozzarella curds.
Learn the secrets behind making smooth, creamy and absolutely delicious cheeses during this hands-on cooking class. On arrival, you'll be introduced to your friendly instructor and treated to a glass of wine, beer or soft drink. During the class, you'll learn tips and tricks behind making fresh cheeses, in particular ricotta, haloumi and mozzarella. The milk used is fresh and full of cream, making it the perfect base. With both demonstration and hands-on elements, you'll be shown cheese making techniques and terms including curd, culture and rennet as well as many interesting facts about dairy. Roll up your sleeves and have a go at stretching mozzarella curds, which is challenging at first but with a little guidance, can be easily mastered! Discuss how you can take your cheese making skills to the next level before sitting down together for a light meal, showcasing all the beautiful cheeses. Take home a cheese making kit to continue your cheese making journey.
