Journey with a local to experience the region's artisan food, wine and beer scene, as well as discover the spectacular scenery, culture and wildlife. This full day tour of Cairns Tablelands will have you swimming in Millaa Millaa Falls, spotting native animals and sampling tasty local produce.
Your day starts with complimentary pick up from your hotel at around 7:30am. To help you with the early rise, the first stop of the tour is Coffee Works in the Kuranda Range, Australia's largest coffee growing region, where you will have the chance to taste local coffee and delicious homemade chocolates. After getting your caffeine fix and learning a thing or two about the beans, you will continue on the scenic journey through Mareeba, Tolga and Atherton to then reach your next destination, the Herberton Historic Village. Step back in time at this recreation of the original Herberton village from the 1800’s and spend an hour and a half exploring the amazing village, tasting some local tropical fruit, cheese and tea. Next, you will make your way to the famous Millaa Millaa Falls, where you're able to take a dip in the beautiful waters or admire the lagoon from a spectacular lookout.
The next stop is the Australian Platypus Centre and Smokehouse Café for lunch. Enjoy incredible views of the Tablelands and the Great Dividing Range as you savour a smoked meat platter to start and your choice of main. Finish the day with a walk into the forest to view one of Australia’s oldest trees, The Curtain Fig Tree; standing at 500 years old, before popping into The Humpy Store to purchase some locally made goodies to take home.
