Come and walk one of the friendly alpacas or llamas across the beautiful Blackwattle farm. Enjoy lots of stops along the way for photos and plenty of cuddles! You'll also get to hand-feed the happy herd from a bucket filled with yummy treats! Enjoy a delicious morning tea afterwards.
Embark on the best stroll you've ever had as you walk a new furry friend around the picturesque Blackwattle Farm, an easy 30 minute drive Canberra. Start off your tour by meeting and greeting the friendly llamas and alpacas, before being entrusted with your own furry buddy to walk around the farm and around the dam. You'll be guided by an experienced tour guide the entire time, who will provide insights into the alpaca's quirky personalities as well as what is involved in getting the fibre from the paddock to a finished product. There will be plenty of opportunities for you to take photos with, pat and hand-feed the alpacas as well.
After your tour, relax and enjoy a delicious morning tea with a slice of our cake or slice of the day - the perfect sweet finish to your visit. You’re also warmly invited to browse the Blackwattle Farm Shop, where you’ll find a beautiful range of alpaca yarns, gifts, toys and plenty of delightful goodies to take home.
This experience is 90 minutes in duration.
This tour is open to the public with group sizes up to 13 people.
Guest are able to visit the farm for free. Participation in the event/tour requires a booking.
The tour runs weather permitting. Tours are able to go ahead in Light to Moderate rain (as advised on the Australian Government Bureau of Meteorology Canberra Radar Loop). We weather tour options are available for these conditions.
Guests are advised to wear appropriate footwear to the farm as we will be walking through paddocks. Please wear flat fully enclosed shoes.
This experience takes place in Murrumbateman, NSW. It is a short 45 minute drive from Canberra.
