Prepare to embark on the adventure of a lifetime to see the majestic female matriarch, the Cassowary, that has been roaming the ancient rainforest for over 40 years. With a 95% success rate of locating and photographing the Cassowary each day, this is your chance to capture a once in a lifetime shot of the incredible display of nature. Begin your adventure with an easy 45 minute walk around the lush rainforest, along the beachfront and over streams to the sites where the Cassowary resides. Be amazed as you spot the majestic bird in its natural habitat.

You will then head over to Babinda Boulders, a stunning swimming hole surrounded by vibrant rainforest. It is home to an abundance of bird-life and natural beauty. This luscious area is made up of fast flowing creeks that weave through huge granite boulders, creating a unique landscape that cannot be found anywhere else.

You will then continue your day with a relaxing bush walk through the rainforest to the Devil Pools lookout, where you will enjoy a delicious lunch whilst learning about the famous Yindinji Indigenous Legend that gave these beautiful pools their eerie name. Float in the cool, clear water and enjoy the serene, luscious rain forest surroundings.

Session Length

  • This experience is 8 hours in duration


  • Please note guests cannot take a selfie or a photo with the cassowary. You can take photos of the Cassowary from afar. Guests must always stay behind the guide and must follow all instructions from the guide
  • Please ensure at the time of booking you have advised the provider of any food preferences, also please state if it is a preference or an allergy
  • Due to the limited space within the van, please only bring a small backpack or similar with you


  • Change your booking up to 7 days before the start time of your experience
  • Changes are not permitted within 7 days of your experience
  • Late arrivals or no shows may result in you forfeiting your experience
