Cook up a storm these school holidays with a four day cooking workshop designed for teens. Pop on an apron and learn basic culinary skills as you create an array of tasty dishes under the watchful eye of a chef. The course covers theory such as food safety, sustainability, nutrition and more.
Make the most of your school holiday break by joining this fun and interactive learn to cook program. You will have the opportunity to unleash your inner MasterChef as a professional shows you how to prepare and cook a variety of fresh, flavourful dishes over four days. The workshop begins with the basics of cookery such as how to hold a knife, cook vegetables, prepare seafood and make desserts. You learn about the seasonality and origin of common foods, how to make healthy food choices and how to create a budget, as well as explore contemporary issues relating to food justice, food policy and sustainability. Each session will have you split into teams to work on recipes together and everyone will have the chance to taste other team's food. Not only will your child have fun creating delicious dishes and interacting with other teens, they will learn valuable lifelong skills and the foundations for good nutrition.
Children cooking workshop are a perfect things to do for children aged 12-16 during school holidays and summer holiday. In the event that your kid is unwell we ask that you send someone else in his or her place. The children who are not unwell will still be expected to attend.
